These are our favourite people. These go-getters are the ones in the group that are the first to initiate conversation, bring up a new “crazy” idea for a fun weekend, lead on any planning and generally motive everyone to get together. Be the ‘fun friend’ this summer and get your mates on a Tough Mudder.
Days seem like weeks for the ‘fun friend’ if they don’t go without sending a calendar invite for the next hurrah and often can lead to the compounding stress of their life moving too quickly by them. Truth is, they are right: time flies. We need to make the most of every opportunity, and committing to the good times will never be something you’ll regret.
If you are the ‘fun friend’ of your group, we salute you. If not, below are a number of qualities in the ‘fun friend’ we feel are important. That should be put on a pedestal for humanity to revel upon. When all is said and done, we all want to have a beer with the ‘fun friend’. Let’s cheers to saying “YES” and “F*CK YEAH” more often in 2022.
What makes a ‘Fun Friend’?
They’re ahead of the curve
“Oh, you haven’t heard of this new adventure that everyone is talking about, yet?!” Might be in his/her vocabulary. But, not in a pretentious tone – they eloquently follow this with “you HAVE to try it, let’s sign up together.”
A tiny bit reckless
What’s adventure without a little risk for reward? Rough around the edges, rough and tough is how the ‘fun friend’ likes a plan to come together.
Brings enough vibes for the whole group
Packs beers for the top of the mountain, makes a reservation that can fit the whole group, has the soundtrack on point for the road-trip. It’s the little things the ‘fun friend’ adds to the experience that make the adventure a memorable one and a little bit different than the last.
They are a team player
No one is left behind. When an idea comes to fruition, it wouldn’t be the same if the squad can’t all be there.
Knows when to commit
Book early and let the fun planning begin. This friend will convince you and block off your calendar to make sure you get a solid meet up date. They make sure you don’t get left in the dust when tickets sell out.
Sound like you? Perhaps it’s time to adventure on with us. Not so much your cup of tea? All good. Forward this along to your ‘fun friend’ and footnote it with a nice thank you for keeping you on your toes.
